![]() Greenlandic kayaking skills sessions Barrier Island Kayak, Swansboro, North Carolina Semi-Privates on Tuesday, June 3 and Monday June 9 We are looking forward to working the Symposium for groups of 8, and this year we are additionally offering targeted semi private sessions as time will allow on the day before and the day after the Symposium. What follows is a general outline of offerings that can be customized to your particular needs and desires. Request what you want to work on and schedule it as soon as possible. Greenland Rolling 2 to 1 maximum ratio Whether it be the standard roll, forward finishing, or any of the more difficult rolls in the repetoire. Includes instruction on techniques of your choice, using one of our low-volume rolling kayaks, Greenland paddle, norsaq, and a tuiliq for the session, or your own kayak and equipment. June 3 and June 9 9 to 11 AM 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM 2 PM $125 per session Forward Strokes Intensive 3 to 1 maximum ratio A comprehensive overview of the fundamentals of the Greenland forward stroke. Learn the freedom of moving your hands up and down a blade that actually feels good! Paddle fit and stroke mechanics, forward and forward canted stroke, sliding stroke, high and low brace technique, sweep, draw and rudder strokes, and various stroke combinations. June 3-9 AM to 12 Noon june 10-1 to 4 PM $125 per session The Traditional Paddler in Moving Water 3 to 1 maximum ratio. Intermediate and advanced traditional paddlers, come play with us in the ebb and flow of the coastal environment. Fine tune your GP strokes in moving water, in waves, and in rougher conditions. Develop open water rolling and bracing skills. Develop a better understanding of the effect of swells and currents. Depending on conditions of the day, experience surfing by skinny stick. GP and a reliable roll required. Forward-finishing rolls [reverse sweep/storm] highly recommended.
