Turner and I had each been teaching kayking skills for quite a while when we began, over 6 years now, teaching Greenland skills under our Kayak Ways banner. As part of the process of stitching together all of the pieces of 'This is the Roll', our new, and about to be released DVD, produced by our filmmaker friend, Justine Curgenven, she asked us for our logo. 'We don't have a logo' was our (not a very good) answer! But we did have a masthead for the website that we both liked and after throwing some ideas against the wall to see what stuck, we decided to go with tweaking that, and is so often the case that lead us to establishing it as our new website mast head, that you see heading this page, above!

We both feel the new logo reflects how we feel about our little business, connecting a deep and rich past to future generations of paddlers. I was so excited and happy about it that I asked our good friend, Sheldon Penn, who is in this biz, if he could do the embroidery setup, and kindly offered his services. He did a great job! Thanks Sheldon! Then I went out to our cool local outdoor store, Ragged Mountain, of North Conway, NH and purchased a couple of items to have the logo embroidered onto!

Well, they turned out so nice, one thing lead to another, and then I thought it might be nice to have some of hats available for sale, since we now have this great logo. So I had another conversation with the manager at Ragged, as they actually make alot of things for outdoor folks right on its premises. This is pretty cool, as we all know how rare anything is actually made in the USA! He showed me some lightweight wool blend hats made from a fabric that he has available to him for a short period of time. The fabric has a breathable soft comfortable polyester lining, Polartec Power Dry(TM), and an outer thin wool polyester blend, Polartec Pure Wool(TM). It is a black, grayish color with very tight and slight vertical ribbing.

So here's the deal. For a limited time we will offer Watchman style caps for sale. They are one size fits all and they cost $20 plus shipping.

We thought a heavier weight hat would be nice also! So we have added this Windstopper fleece beanie cap. It has the smooth windstop fabric on the outside and fuzzy, soft warm fleece on the inside. Also made by our local outfitter, Ragged Mountain. The are available for a short time for $20. One size fits all!
