We have struggled with this weekend as Delmarva Paddler's Retreat moved their dates from their historical early October dates due to Jewish Holidays, and SKG has moved their dates back into mid-October from the Halloween slot, in order to chase the best Tidal condtions of the year. And now? This year, we can only be at one place at one time;-(... We made a commitment to our good friends at SKG before we knew that DPR had made THEIR date change, and with that committment we will miss the Retreat for the first time in a long while. Hopefully this calendar snafu won't exist next year. Also, after very cool and productive Skin on Frame workshops in Vermont and Connecticut this past summer, and Florida and two in upper New York State this past winter and spring, there will be more upcoming in 2008. Many more are in the works! Check out our Workshop Itinerary page for more detail. Perhaps also in a neighborhood near you? The upcoming schedule holds Minnesota in September. Currently in planning stages are late fall and winter/spring builds in Florida, Nova Scotia, Perth, Australia, Maryland, and Isle of Skye, Scotland. Stay tuned. if you are interested in helping organize one and/or you have a venue that we can bring a workshop to for a couple of weeks, be in touch! Ongoing ![]() Going forward, be sure to check back here on a regular basis! We are on the cusp of a slew of other announcements, both local and far away, for the outdoor season. We will be covering the waterfront, of that you can be sure! As we noted at the very top of this page, we offer private and semi-prvate instruction on a regular basis. There are ALWAYS possibilities. Inquire at h2o@kayakways.net Turner builds custom skin on frame qajaq, as well as custom traditional solid wood paddles, custom fit to you and designed with the water you paddle in, in mind. You might be interested in his background in building, or the way he fits a paddler to a kayak. Contact Turner for more information. Cheri offers a 'yoga for paddlers' class format for individuals or clubs who feel they are limited by their flexibility, or want to customize their yoga practice as a cross-training tool for paddling. She will share her insights into the many benefits yoga offers for both rolling and paddling. Please contact her! We also have some pictures from our past travels posted at our photo gallery. There you will find pix sketches from Vermont Madness 2006, a July 4th weekend on Black Island in Maine, a sampling of shots from an August 2006 SOF workshop at Seneca Lake, NY, and a slideshow ushering in 2007 with a smattering of people and place pixs from near and far. And don't forget all that video footage of rolling that we will continue to update. As they are quite high resolution, we only ask that once to view them you download them to your computer rather than continuing to reload them from our site.
