(These files are in the 10MB to 25MB range so they may take a bit of time to load, depending on your connection speed.) Sidsel Born is a Dane who recently spent a year living in Nuuk, Greenland. She competed in Ropes at the 2006 Competition in Sisimiut, but at that time she didn't have enough points to enter rolling. In New York City for a month, She visited us at the pool this past Sunday, and she demonstrated a reliable standard roll, so she had quite a bit of fun working on new stuff, storm, reverse sweeps, stick, and hand rolls. She went on to nail several new rolls in one session, including the aft hand and the elbow roll! This clip features the paddle behind the head standard roll. Note the good patience, the boat moving first with leg drive, and the powerful torso rotation. I have no doubt that the next time she competes, she will do FAR more than 20 points! Perhaps 10 times more? Back to recent video clips of folks we have mentored, or to our rolling video page!
